Experience deep-rooted change.
Helping women in recovery to experience more awareness, peace, and ease in Denver, Colorado.
Erin McMahon, LCSW
Are you recovering from something?
Whether it be addiction, an eating disorder, trauma, or grief, recovering from something life-altering can be all encompassing. You might find yourself feeling anxious, heartbroken, overwhelmed, or lost and confused. Your relationships may, at times, feel complicated and disappointing. You might find yourself chronically overworked and overwhelmed. Maybe you have done the 12 steps, and life is much better now, but you still find yourself grasping for relief. The world is full of uncertainty and chaos, which adds to the fear. Perhaps you have done therapy before, and it was helpful, but you sense that you can grow further.
Our work together can help.
There is more peace and ease to be found. By taking one hour per week, we can work together to better understand you and your life, so that real and lasting change can take place.
Often, just sharing the burdens of life stressors with a skilled clinician can help to lighten the load. But our work will go deeper: we will work together to better understand what patterns exist, why they might be present, how they feel, and what other possibilities might exist. This process gets to the core of what troubles you, unmasking and changing deep-seated habits and experiences so that they can be transformed. It is an investment of time, energy, and financial resources that can facilitate real and lasting change that you can see and feel.
I help clients to:
Experience deeper levels of recovery and vitality
Have healthier, more fulfilling interpersonal relationships
Find more contentment, ease, and joy
Process and integrate difficult experiences from the past
Hold their personal story with more peace and compassion
Get to know themselves deeply
Feel sure about themselves and their decisions
Experience lasting change, over time
Hi There, I’m Erin (she/they).
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker passionate about helping women in recovery process and integrate past traumas, develop a better relationship with themselves and others, and to experience deep and lasting change.
My nature is approachable, grounded, and authentic - I aim to co-create a relationship that feels safe and attuned enough to do this deep therapeutic work. In our work together, we will explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences - whatever is coming up for you right now. This often includes looking at how the past informs the present, a foundation of psychodynamic work. I sometimes utilize trauma-informed tools, such as grounding, movement, and EMDR/IFS-informed interventions when clients and I, together, decide it might be helpful.
Together we will explore what is right for you; this is trauma-informed psychodynamic therapy. It is an honor and a joy to work with individuals on this journey.
“We are born in relationship, we are wounded in relationship, and we can be healed in relationship.”
